Workato Pub/Sub tool

Hello,

I am just starting with Workato in my company. For one project we are thinking of making Asyn calls to our workato recipe from an external system. Would I be able to use workato pub/sub tool available in tools to leverage this? Can workato event topic consume messages from outside workato?
